Zambian artists Yo Maps and Prince Luv arrived in the country Thursday evening in Blantyre ahead of the Kell Kay country tour.
The two artists are set to ignite excitement in music lovers, having recently collaborated with the country’s star Kell Kay in the track ‘Bana Pwanya’, which is enjoying airplay.
For Prince Luv, this might be his first visit to Malawi but Yo Maps has been to the country for performances.
The two artists called upon people to patronise the shows, assuring them of nothing but the best in terms of performances.
“Buy your tickets, we are ready,” Yo Maps, who has also collaborated with Eli Njuchi and Tay Grin, said.
Apart from sharing the stage with local acts, the two Zambian artists are expected to come face to face with South African artist Master KG, who is expected to jet into the country on Friday. Ahead of the shows dubbed Kell Kay/Yo Maps Malawi tour, the Zambian artists were expected to join locals during a Meet and Greet session at Stakeout, Amaryllis Hotel on Thursday.
The shows start on Friday night at Scallas Café in Blantyre followed by performances at Umodzi Park in Lilongwe and Springs Park in Mzuzu on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Kell Kay has been on the move, selling tickets on his own and calling upon people to patronise the shows.
“Let’s make history together. These shows are for you and, so, come and be part of the fun. Otherwise, we are all ready,” the Lilongwe-based artist, said.
At Scallas Café, the show, to be hosted by Times Television presenter Che Kalonda, will, apart from Yo Maps, Kell Kay, Prince Luv and Master KG, also have Gwamba, Charisma, Saint, Praise Umali, Jetu, Malinga and Kineo and Aidfest, who are basking in the glory of releasing their debut Extended Playlist.
The other artists set to perform at the shows are Skeffa Chimoto, Patience Namadingo, Lulu and Emmie Deebo
