Ten acts on Saturday made it to the grand finale of the Bangwe Got Talent following their success in the semifinals held at Bangwe Livingwaters Hall in Blantyre.
It was a battle that saw groups putting up top performances but only 10 came out after they won the hearts of the judges.
The judging panel included singer and guitarist Agorosso, who has since advised the acts that have made it to the grand finale to up their game.
“The country has potential when it comes to talent. We saw great talent but, then, those that have made it to the grand finale have to practice hard if they are to come out top,” Agorosso said.
Some of the acts that have made it to the grand finale include Destination Talents, Bangwe Progress, Ace Magic, Eagles Dance and Oi Music.
Led by Luso La Bangwe, the event is aimed at unearthing talent in the township.
Luso La Bangwe Project Manager Andrew Macheso, also known as DJ Bad Up Skillz, said the grand finale would be held in March this year.
He said they were happy with the response Bangwe Got Talent had received since its introduction in 2023.
“Bangwe is a township which is blessed with talent but many young people lack platforms to showcase this talent. This is why we came out to give this talent a platform,” Macheso said.
Member of Parliament Orphan Shaba is sponsoring the competition to the tune of K4 million, with the winner expected to pocket K500,000.
