Cadence Music breathes life to Madsoc Theatre

Madsoc Theatre in Lilongwe shifted from its usual partakes of theatre undertakings last Sunday when it featured a live music concert led by Cadence Music.

Cadence Music chairperson Chisomo Zamadunga described the live music concert as a success and that it was a memorable experience that offered a powerful worship experience.

“It was a joyful connection with the audience. We shared a sneak peek of our upcoming album and we enjoyed some meaningful conversations with attendees,” Zamadunga said.

He said they decided to hold the concert to give people a chance to appreciate jazz and afro-centric blend of heartwarming sound.

“The audience’s enthusiasm for our jazz was lively on the night. The theatre’s intimate lighting and ambiance created a unique experience for acappella fans – distinct from the larger venues we often perform in,” Zamadunga said.

He further said that another highlight of the concert was having Salim Daud Mussa on saxophone.

“His seamless harmony with our group added a rich, textured atmosphere that resonated deeply. This experience reminded us of the demand for quality music in places that are often overlooked,” Zamadunga said.

He said there is much potential for growth, both as a group and in reaching new listeners.

“We are excited to bring more concerts in the future, both as solo acts and alongside some of our favourite musicians. Our upcoming album, set for release next year, is crafted to inspire hope and joy, and we cannot wait to share it with everyone,” Zamadunga said.
