Veteran gospel musician Chimwemwe Mizaya left recently for United States of America (USA) for further studies, thus handing over her Christian Artists Network (Cana) leadership to Rudo Mkukupa Chakwera.
In a communication that he wrote to the members, Mizaya said she has relocated to Colorado, USA, where she is pursuing her second Masters Degree at the University of Denver.
“I am passing on the mantle of leadership to Rudo Chakwera. So, effective immediately, she is the Malawi Team leader,” Mizaya said.
Having served as Cana leader for close to nine years, Mizaya said she is optimistic that Rudo will take the organisation to greater heights.
“In collaboration with prospective trustees, Rudo will form a leadership team. She is a great leader, passionate about Christian arts and I have no doubt the Lord will use her mightily in leading to promote Christian arts in Malawi,” she said.
Mizaya said Rudo will map the way forward for the group and that her key issue is to complete registration of the organisation.
Members have since congratulated Rudo for taking over Cana leadership.
Rudo said she would continue from where Mizaya had left off to propel Cana.
“It is all about team work and, so, we continue from where Chimwemwe Mizaya has left off,” she said.
