The Gospel Salvation Concert, led by Word Alive Ministries Praise Team, debuted with firepower at Word Alive in Blantyre as people got immersed in praise and worship throughout.
Although Word Alive Ministries was the host, people from all walks of life and different denominations patronised the concert.
There was singing, dance and worship during the event that Senior Pastor, who is also the General Overseer, Zacc Kawalala, described as “a celebration of Jesus in worship and adoration to the Lord”.
“It is a blessing to have such an occasion, to bring the city in one place to celebrate God but much more to have an occasion where we come to worship the Lord. The focus was salvation and we are happy to see souls transformed,” he said.
Kawalala said it was a beautiful thing to dwell together in unity.
“This is the first and we are trusting that they shall have more,” he said.
Apart from Word Alive Praise Team, some of the acts that performed at the concert included Frank Chimpanzi, famed for the track ‘Bwerani,’ Simplice, who travelled all the way from Lilongwe, and Glocence.
Simplice, who performed for a long time, jumped on stage soon after Glocence had served her songs.
It was a praise and worship session for Simplice.
“It was a wonderful experience for me and I appreciate God for the initiative,” he said.
Chimpanzi refreshed memories of his feats and climaxed with ‘Bwerani’ which had everyone singing along.
“To God be the glory, we have seen the power of God moving in a mighty way. This is the first one and, so, we are looking forward to another one next year,” he said.
