Investment School of Creative Arts sets off

Deputy Minister of Local Government, Unity, and Culture Owen Chomanika reaffirmed yesterday that the government is committed to advancing the creative sector in the country by establishing the necessary infrastructure for its practitioners.

Chomanika made the remarks in Mangochi during the official launch of the Investment School of Creative Arts, sponsored by Nico Group and operating under the theme ‘Promoting Arts as a Business’.

“As government, we acknowledge our promises and despite challenges, we are making significant strides. For instance, we have made considerable progress on the National Arts and Heritage Council Draft Bill and we urge everyone to observe our progress,” he said.

Chomanika commended Nico Group for sponsoring the Investment School of Creative Arts, aiming to equip artists with knowledge on various aspects, including financial literacy, to enhance the production of quality works for the market.

“Nico Group has made a commendable contribution to the creative sector, aligning with government efforts, and we hope other stakeholders will follow suit,” he said.
