Renowned writer Lawrence Kadzitche, author of the Katakwe series, has published a new book titled Bwantasa ndi Anzake.
Kadzitche said on Thursday that the book is part of documenting stories and also aims to encourage young people to read and write.
“I am passionate about writing and will continue to do so. I love telling stories, which inspired the Katakwe series, but now I am presenting Bwantasa ndi Anzake,” he said.
He added that, with technology taking its place, reading culture is diminishing among young people; hence, he wants to foster a spirit of reading and writing among the youth.
“It is a simple book and easy to follow; it is a story that will resonate with people and, through the book, I am also promoting the use of our languages,” he said.
The book tells the story of three mischievous boys— Bwantasa, Mbwiyawo and Gwayani—at a public primary school.
The three were a nuisance to fellow learners and teachers until they were set straight by a no-nonsense teacher who had been transferred to the school.
This is Kadzitche’s seventh book, following Katakwe Kutauni, Katakwe Zaka 10, Katakwe Kumudzi, Katakwe Mdzina la Yesu, Slay Queen, and In the Spirit of Ines Tebulo.
