LeeMckrazy offers short performance at Piano Fest

South African artist LeeMckrazy debuted in the country with a not-so-long performance at Piano Fest at Moneymen Club in Blantyre in the early hours of Sunday.

Fun lovers who turned up for the Piano Fest, led by Beerland Festival in partnership with Nyasa Music Group, had hoped for a long set, only for the Amapiano star to perform for less than 45 minutes.

His performance came after Fadah Moti, who has won the souls of many people with his lively acts, set the stage on fire with songs such as ‘Kutali’ and ‘Kuwala’.

LeeMckrazy took some time before he stormed the stage and although his set was short, he still managed to give people a treat as they sang along to his few songs.

And by the time the audience thought the South African singer would dish out more songs, he signed off before DJs took over.

Amapiano Mayor Zeze Kingston, was next on the radar.

“LeeMckrazy was not bad but he needs more songs. For me, this was short for Piano Fest, especially being the headliner, as local acts did most of the work,” Robert Phiri, a resident of BCA, said.

All the other artists starred using DJs except Patience Namadingo, who delivered a live set with a band comprising OBK on drums, AB Malinga on guitar, Alex Chitheka on keyboards and Chambota on bass guitar.

Namadingo got support from the audience that sang along to most of his tunes but it was ‘Mapemphero’ which ruled.

Earlier on, the audience got a stake of performances from other artists such as Trappy Beats, who sparked with the track ‘Cardio’

Both James Makunje from Nyasa Music Group and DJ Kenny from Beerland Festival, respectively, were pleased with the attendance, promising more of such outings.

Hosted by DJ Love, DJ Mighty Virus also showed his skills on the decks during the show.
