Soldier tribute show set for Grand Business Park

Impakt Events has announced that a tribute concert for Soldier Lucius Banda to celebrate his life and legacy will be held at Grand Business Park in Lilongwe on September 28 2024.

In a statement, Impakt Events is inviting friends, fans and supporters to support the concert of Lucius, who until his death on June 30 2024 was the firm’s chief executive officer.

The statement says this is a heartfelt event dedicated to celebrating the life of Lucius, who contributed immensely to the growth of the creative sector.

For over 30 years, Lucius, who was also presidential adviser on youth and arts, entertained the country with his music and produced 20 selling albums.

“We invite all friends, fans and supporters to come together for an unforgettable day of music, memories and tribute to a visionary whose passion and dedication to the arts have left an indelible mark on us all,” the statement reads.

Impakt Events says in the statement that more details, including a line-up of performers, will be provided later.

According to the firm, this is a once-off show and that going forward there will be an annual tribute show organised by the family and other partners in Balaka District.

Recently, Alleluya Band, with blessings from the Band family, held a tribute concert at Andiamo Ground to remember Lucius, who is one of the founders of the group.

The tribute concert at Grand Business Park comes after Impakt Events recently announced that it had cancelled this year’s Sand Music Festival, which was expected to be held this month, due to the fact that they were still mourning Lucius, who was the festival’s director.
